Day 1
Punta Cana - Bayahibe
Greeting at the airport and transfer to your hotel in Bayahibe. The rest of the evening is at your leisure to relax.

Day 2
Bayahibe - Santo Domingo
In the morning, drive to Santo Domingo. Once there, you will get to know the first European city in America. The first cathedral was built here, the first governor resided here, the first bishop was consecrated here and the first hospital was opened here. The lively city of over a million inhabitants has a number of cultural and especially architectural sights to offer that you won't find anywhere else on Hispaniola. You start in the historic old town, the so-called "Zona Colonial", which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. On the city tour you will visit the Palace of Diego Columbus, the fortress "Ozama" and the "Parque Colón" with the bronze monument of Christopher Columbus. You will walk through the "Calle de las Damas", the Ladies' Street and the famous pedestrian zone "El Conde" with its many shops and street vendors, bars and restaurants.

Day 3
Santo Domingo - Jarabacoa
Today the journey takes you to Jarabacoa. The small town is surrounded by pine forests, mountains and valleys. Spring-like temperatures prevail here all year round. The climatic health resort is the centre for hiking enthusiasts and nature lovers. Here you will visit the "Monte Alto" coffee factory, where everything about the cultivation and processing of coffee will be revealed. There is also a coffee tasting, of course.
Afterwards, the journey takes you to Santiago, the richest city in the country. Santiago is the economic metropolis and second largest city. Things are much less hectic here than in the capital. You will visit a cigar factory, where everything about tobacco processing will be explained to you. For some years now, the Dominican Republic has outstripped the neighbouring island of Cuba in the cultivation and processing of the tobacco plant.

Day 4
Santiago - San Francisco de Macorís - Santo Domingo
In the morning, head to the east. Through a fertile valley you will travel to San Francisco de Macoris, where you will visit the "Sendero de Cacao". Here you have the unique opportunity to experience everything from the cocoa bean to chocolate processing at the cocoa plantation "Hacienda La Esmeralda", which supplies world-famous chocolate factories. Of course, a cocoa and chocolate tasting is also part of the programme. Lunch will be provided during the tour. Afterwards you will travel back to Santo Domingo.

Day 5
Santo Domingo - San Pedro de Macorís - La Romana - Santo Domingo
Join us on a journey to the Historic Barceló Museum in San Pedro de Macoris, built in the shape of a rum barrel. Here you can see behind the scenes of one of the Dominican Republic's most important ingredients: Barceló Rum. Take part in a tour through the different processes of making the rum: distillery, refinement, rum cellar and packaging. You will also visit an exhibition about the history of the Barceló family. To top it off, of course, a rum tasting is a must.
Afterwards, you will visit the interesting cave system "Cueva de las Maravillas" with underground river courses and dripstone caves. It is the largest accessible dripstone cave in the Dominican Republic and holds many impressive drawings of the Taino Indians.

Day 6
Santo Domingo
In the middle of the city of Santo Domingo and not far from the colonial zone is the recreational destination "Los Tres Ojos" (the three eyes), which is home to a small nature park and several stalactite caves. You descend into the caves and enjoy the view of the partly open stalactite caves and the green coral underground. Walk through the unusually green vegetation and marvel at the 3 eyes (caves). You can only reach the fourth eye by boat, which takes you to the cenote via a small underground river. There you will have a fantastic view of a hidden lake surrounded by green, wild vegetation.
In the middle of the city of Santo Domingo and not far from the colonial zone, you will visit the Botanical Garden. Here, on 20 hectares, you can see a large collection of palms as well as many endemic and exotic plants, including a large collection of orchids with many different species from the island. The Japanese Zen Garden is one of the absolute highlights of the Botanical Garden.

Day 7
Santo Domingo - Palmar de Ocoa - Santo Domingo
Today we are going to the Bay of Ocoa. Here, the first wine tourism project in the entire Caribbean was inaugurated. It is embedded in a unique landscape and offers wide views over the dreamlike Caribbean Sea. After a short informative tour through the vineyards, you will have the opportunity to taste the wines in an unforgettable ambience. Afterwards you can enjoy an excellent lunch, which is prepared exclusively with products from the region, and furthermore the breathtaking view over the bay of Ocoa. Afterwards, relax by the resort's pool and enjoy the Caribbean flair far away from the tourist crowds.

Day 8
Transfer to the airport or start of a following programme
